Play Grand Finale, the cooperative fireworks card game
Everyone sees your cards except you. Trade hints, launch in order and aim for 25.
- 2 to 5 players
- 20 to 40 minutes
- Everyone on one team
- Bots fill empty seats
Grand Finale is a cooperative card game for 2 to 5 players. You hold your hand facing away from you, so you can see every card at the table except your own. Together you build five fireworks, red, yellow, green, blue and white, each from 1 up to 5 in order. Hints are limited, and three misfires end the show, so every clue has to count.
It suits groups who like talking a problem through more than beating each other. On Deal & Roll the table remembers what each hint told you, marks cards the table reads as Play, Keep or Trash, and shows a small grid of what each of your cards could still be. The bots follow a clear set of hint habits, so you can learn the game with them before playing with friends.
Why play Grand Finale here
- Fully cooperative: the whole table wins or loses the show together
- Possible-cards helper shows what each of your hidden cards can still be
- Bots read and give hints with shared habits, and read yours the same way
- Optional sixth colour: violet, rare violet or a prism suit that answers every colour hint
- Private notes on your own cards, plus a full history of every hint and play
- Score out of 25 with a rating from damp squib to legendary
How to play Grand Finale
Seat the crew
Open Grand Finale and host a table for 2 to 5 players, or practise with bots. With 2 or 3 players everyone holds 5 cards. With 4 or 5 players, 4 cards.
Look at the others
You see every other hand face up but never your own. The table shares 8 hint gems and a fuse with three segments.
Give a hint
Tap another player and name one colour or one number. All their matching cards light up. A hint costs one gem.
Or discard
Put one of your cards in the discard pile to win a gem back, then draw. You cannot discard while all 8 gems are lit.
Or play a card
Launch one of your cards. If it is the next number for its colour, the firework grows. If not, it misfires and a fuse segment burns.
Finish the show
The show ends when all five fireworks reach 5, on the third misfire, or one round after the deck runs out. Add up the top card of each firework for your score.
Tips
- Before you discard, check the next player's oldest unhinted card. If it is a 5 or the last copy of something, a save hint matters more.
- Keep a gem or two in reserve so you can save a card in an emergency.
- With two fuse segments burnt, do not guess a play. Discarding is almost always safer.

Grand Finale questions
What is Grand Finale?
Grand Finale is a cooperative card game for 2 to 5 players. Everyone can see every hand except their own. Players take turns giving limited colour or number hints, discarding, or playing cards to build five fireworks from 1 to 5 in order. The team scores the total of the top cards, with 25 as a perfect show.
Is there a cooperative card game I can play online with friends for free?
Yes. Grand Finale is free on Deal & Roll. Open a table, share the code or invite link, and friends join from any phone, tablet or computer. Nobody needs to download anything or create an account, and bots can fill any seat your friends leave empty.
How do hints work?
On your turn you can spend a hint gem to tell another player about one colour or one number in their hand. Every matching card lights up, and they also learn which cards do not match. The table starts with 8 gems. Discarding a card or finishing a firework with its 5 wins a gem back.
What counts as a win?
Everyone wins or loses together. The table counts a score of 16 or more out of 25 as a win (20 or more out of 30 with a sixth colour). By default a show that ends on the third misfire scores 0, but the table can choose to keep the score instead.
Can I play Grand Finale alone against bots?
Yes. Choose Practice against bots and bots take the other seats as your teammates. They follow a small set of hint habits: they discard their oldest unhinted card, treat a hint on that card as a save, and treat most other hints as play signals. They read your hints the same way, so it is a good way to learn.
Can I play with 2 players?
Yes. Grand Finale works with 2 to 5 players. With 2 or 3 players each hand has 5 cards, and with 4 or 5 players each hand has 4. You can also change the hand size in the table options, from 3 to 6 cards.
What variants does the table support?
You can add a sixth colour (violet, a rare violet with one card of each number, or a prism suit that answers every colour hint), change the hand size, allow empty hints, end the show at once when the deck runs out, and keep your score after the third misfire. The possible-cards helper can be turned off too.
